March 13, 2020 – Over the past few days, we’ve all been feeling the impact of Coronavirus, as we stock up on all the essential things we need to keep our families healthy and safe.
We want you to know that as a catering company in Baton Rouge, your health and safety is our first priority, too.
Sanitation
Our routine cleaning and sanitation standards for food safety already meet CDC and FDA guidelines. Additionally, we’ve put in place a heightened disinfection response program. Like many others, we’re taking guidance from the CDC, which recommends regular cleaning as one of the most important preventive measures we can take.
No-Contact Delivery and Pick Up Options
There is currently no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted through food or food packaging, according to the CDC and the FDA, but to address the potential issue of transmission from delivery person to customer, we have established ‘No-Contact’ delivery and pick up options so everyone can keep on “social distancing”.
Food Safety and Cooking
There is currently no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted through food or food packaging, and since the virus is extremely heat sensitive, it is important to note that it is destroyed with proper cooking.
As a licensed commercial catering facility, we take our role in being able to provide delicious, safe meals to Baton Rouge very seriously.
Benjamin Chapman, a professor and food safety extension specialist at North Carolina State University, explained that because the mode of infection is primarily respiratory, the chance of getting COVID-19 from food is extremely low. “In fact, we don’t see evidence of any respiratory viruses being transmitted through food in the past,” he said.
We encourage you to visit the CDC’s website for up-to-date information on how to keep your family and yourself safe.
Taking Care of Our Team
And of course, we’re committed to taking care of our team. We’ve provided our team with up-to-the-moment guidance and information so they can keep themselves and their families safe. Sick team members are instructed to stay home.
At the center of our company’s purpose is a commitment to help our community, and it’s something we take to heart in good times and bad. This is why we’ll be working hard to keep Culinary Productions open, safely providing delicious meals so we can be there to support you and your families.
